unusually for a record (for me,at least), constants collects tracks written in four very different moments in time: some are recent - so recent ive only had the opportunity to play them out just a handful of times - while others are over one year old. i really wish the story behind this ep would be a bit more interesting so this text could completely blow your mind but im afraid there were no dragons, no sex, no drugs and definitely no rock n roll involved. all four were mostly produced by me while sipping coffee and wearing boxer shorts in front of a computer. i could somehow try to describe the music on here but it would probably take less for you to give it a listen. however, if you happen to be one of the humans that prefer reading about music. anyway, im really happy to see these finally out, especially on a label i have always looked up to like vakant. i really used to think smoke, kaden and ozer were aliens at some hopefully you will enjoy this music as much as i loved writing and playing it out.

some proper quality house music on the 3rd and final part in the golden age trilogy by giles and martin aka the two armadillos. think larry heard, norm talley, delano smith and the likes! the a side once again is club track with a modulating, moody heavy, heavy bassline and lots of atmosphere. definitely one for big rooms but for deeper 5am moments with its strings and fluttering hypnotic keys. this has been going down a treat in both giles and martins dj sets for some time. >detroit dancer< has a jazzy scat drum programming, keys, plenty of atmosphere and sparkling synth solos. last up the downtempo musical and downright lazy vibes of >majestic< with its stand up bass, strings and keys play out and signal the final track of the trilogy of releases.

nice price deal !!! being in the same gene pool as pat sharpes hair is enough of a stigma to steer any young djs career off course - deep in the discos of pop trash. fortunately for metaphi / metske, although still benefitting from the same glossy 90s locks as the radio-jock/distant uncle, musical inspiration came from more complex climates. wigflex006 acts as a fine electronic switchboard to metaphis archive of talents, a complicated circuit board of the experimental ranging from hip hop, idm, and garage to blues harmonicas and classical rifts, seamlessly melted into one gloop of green circuitry where each musical discipline must co-exist with another. as metske the bpms hover around 95, the framework is hip-hop, the sound often skwee but the influences thereafter are endless, slow train blues clicks its way through a steam train intro before marring the lines between electronic music and the blues with a self-composed harmonica rift worthy of howlin wolf. at the same tempo spin states delves into the cosmic with pipey neon chords and bit-crunched bass: sega mega drive boss level business. metaphis taste for big room techno is blatant and genetically wigflex over sharpflex, and in terms of nationality its mongrel, half notts, half eastern europe. with concious mentis hes keeping things minimal but charged from lower frequencies and messmode progresses with some serious dancefloor swagger.

dana ruh has not hestitated to explore musical possibilities in her studio with her machines to continue her solo work. while evolving new sounds and tracks, she hit some spectacular signings with ben watts buzzin fly and put a track on a various artists on crosstown rebels. as well there will be her own new releases on aras and brouqade. make sure to expect some musical gemstones in the second half of 2011 to be released .... coz diamonds are that girls best friends.

nynfus corporation is the name of a crew of rising starts in the nu funk/ghetto funk scene. top class ghetto funk productions with an ethnic twist are what the 3 boys from budapest, hungary are all about. after doing release on the bombastic jamand bigm label the crew turned to bbp to drop their dopest release to date. the a-side gives us funky peak time ghetto pumpin jams, whiles the b-side shows us a little a of that ethnic/europeanstyles the boys do all so well. all 4 tunes are tested with party rockin guarantee, and they will surely be doing some major damage on the dancefloors this summer.

bjoern stolpmanns new release >slow job< is a melodic and impulsive tech house track with a touch of real cool oldskool sounds in it. the vocals let you know that there was some real great techno music in the 90ies. the remix comes from the new york based south african brendon moeller and is a signature of his typical quality dub techno sound. with his hypnotizing & energetic dubby techno sound, he delivers another inspired groove with great quality.

as ajello say:the idea for a cover version of n.o.i.a.s looking for love was born a couple of years ago - an idea of alessandro piatto, younger brother of davide piatto, original member of n.o.i.a. as soon as alessandro proposed it,we asked whether we could have the original tracks but, unfortunately,they have been lost over the years.immediately his brother davide brought together the original lineup of n.o.i.a.and locked them up in the studio to record the voice from scratch and some of the synth parts. our intervention was first on the drums, replacing the original for a more uptempo beat, and then the bassline, shaping it to a more modern sound. the vocals were treated with filters and echoes,and we also added some new guitar parts and synth lines. it was an honour to us, ajello, to bring to light an italo-disco classic that has really influenced us and we have put all our efforts to create a version that is timeless, as much as the original.

the restless berliners are back to bring some sun back to the dancefloors. fargo is a real open air hymn which you can only love or hate. an oldschool organ bassline on a minimal house beat topped with strings and disco vocals. this must be a hit. save yourself i a little bit darker but also a pretty strong track with a piano hook that you wont get out of your head too soon. the b side takes it back a notch with the more laid back tracks now youre gone and the fargo remix from the young and talented mass digital from serbia. thats proper deep house here on keno records.

i light another cigarette in the tittery the sparrow has landed. we have returned from our excursion to the modern and would like to share what we brought with you: some showtunes and a twelve tone row. the show, as it turns out to be, is our very own. we started out writing new material to perform on stage, after we had found out it was great fun to refrain our instrumentation to vocals, piano and bad acting. originally very attracted to the- as our label told us- very clandestine idea of releasing three 12inches with very limited playability for djs, we agreed not to ruin our dial friends and work on an album instead.
